FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Fresno police say officers shot and killed a man who came at them with a metal fence post while wrapped in bucket.

Police Chief Jerry Dyer says officers found the 36-year-old man in a backyard after heading to a home to arrest him on suspicion of violating a domestic violence restraining order.

According to the Fresno Bee (https://bit.ly/1DwzLVC), Dyer says the man was armed with a four-foot post from a chain link fence and had cut a 5-gallon bucket and wrapped it around his chest.

Officers tried to stop the man using a stun gun before shooting him several times.

The man died at the scene. He has not been identified.
