GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Police in Greensboro are investigating the city’s third homicide in a 36-hour period.

Local media outlets report police have few leads in the latest incident. Capt. Mike Richey said officers were called to a location near the center of the city in response to a report of shots being fired. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The News & Record of Greensboro reports police responded to the same location last year after a stabbing.

Prior to the latest incident, police were investigating the shooting death of a 64-year-old man at an apartment complex on Sunday as well as a double shooting that killed one man and left another one wounded.
