GARNER, Iowa (AP) - The Medicaid fraud trial of a northern Iowa woman has been delayed until Oct. 22.

The trial of Brooke Banse, 31, was scheduled to begin Wednesday in Hancock County District Court in Garner, the Mason City Globe Gazette said (https://bit.ly/1C9uG3T ).

Banse, a student advocate at Garner-Hayfield Elementary School, is charged with felony fraudulent practice and misdemeanor records tampering. Prosecutors have said Banse submitted records and received federal Medicaid payments for services she did not provide.

The school district has placed her on paid administrative leave, pending resolution of the charges.
