HIGHLAND, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man had his throat slashed outside a Southern California casino for no apparent reasons.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise (https://bit.ly/1DwXpBj ) says the man was standing in a drop-off area at San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino late Sunday when a man approached, pulled a knife and slashed his throat.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jodi Miller says security caught the attacker as he tried to run and the victim is recovering at a hospital.

Thirty-one-year-old Isreal Uwnauich was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains jailed Tuesday.
