NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a man killed outside a Newark fast-food restaurant earlier this month.

Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray announced Tuesday that 32-year-old city resident Michael James Jr. faces murder and weapons charges in the death of Napolean Williams.

The 33-year-old Newark man was killed Sept. 6 at a restaurant on Elizabeth Avenue in the city’s South Ward. Authorities have not disclosed a motive for the shooting, which also left another man wounded.

The investigation was conducted by the Newark Police Department and the county’s Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force.

It was not known Tuesday if James had retained an attorney.
