PHENIX CITY, Ala. (AP) - Police in the east Alabama town of Phenix City have arrested a 17-year-old Phenix City boy. He faces a murder charge in the killing of 17-year-old Central High School senior Tyrelle Kynard.

Authorities say Kynard was shot in the head moments after a party let out at a community center and died around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police tell told The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (https://bit.ly/1B39z0V) that it appeared the suspect used a handgun.

Details of a possible motive have not been released.

The killing is the second homicide this year in Phenix City, just across the Chattahoochee River from Columbus, Georgia.
