VINTON, La. (AP) - Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 59-year-old Vinton man.

Police Chief Ricky Fox says David Scasino’s neighbor has been booked with second-degree murder.

Fox tells KPCL TV (https://bit.ly/1rlcRvh ) Daniel Kight (kite) is being held on a bond totaling $500,000.

Fox said they waited to arrest Kight on Monday until the forensics unit with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office finished investigating the scene. Kight had been detained as a person of interest.

The chief says Scasino suffered severe neck and chest wounds.

Authorities said they have been called to the area at least twice in the past for disputes involving Scasino and the suspect.

It was unclear whether Kight has an attorney.
