MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Department of Human Resources has started an online training course for people who are supposed to report child abuse and neglect.

Gov. Robert Bentley, Human Resources Commissioner Nancy Buckner and state school Superintendent Tommy Bice announced the course Wednesday in Montgomery.

The training takes less than an hour, and it is designed to help people who are required by law to report child abuse and neglect. They include public and private school and college employees, medical personnel, child care workers, law enforcement, clergy and mental health workers.

The course is available on the Department of Human Resources’ website (https://training.dhr.alabama.gov ).
