ALLENPORT, Pa. (AP) - State police and a coroner believe the estranged or former husband of a woman shot to death outside her western Pennsylvania home has also killed himself.

The first victim, 51-year-old Jeanne Bennati, was found shot in the head outside her Allenport home about 9:10 p.m. Tuesday.

That’s when witnesses told police they saw a red Corvette leave the scene. A car matching that description was found about four miles away Wednesday about 5:30 a.m. In it, troopers found 42-year-old Ryan Lee Foster dead of what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot.

Authorities and witnesses have said Foster was either Bennati’s ex-husband or that she had filed for divorce from him.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco and troopers from the Belle Vernon barracks were continuing to investigate, but were treating the case as a possible murder-suicide.
