MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - A construction worker has died during a project to expand a school in Middle Tennessee.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol told the Daily News Journal (https://on.dnj.com/1yqJI6S) that 58-year-old Ricky McCurry died Tuesday after being pinned by a backhoe that overturned.

The incident occurred at Eagleville School in Rutherford County, where a $5 million expansion project is underway.

Ground was broken on the project in June and it is expected to be complete by the beginning of the next school year.
