PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine environmental group is holding a community forum about environmental threats to Casco Bay.

Friends of Casco Bay will hold the “Casco Bay Is at Risk” forum on Wednesday evening at the University of Southern Maine in Portland. The event will include information about coastal acidification, the growth of invasive green crabs, and threats to Maine’s coastal economy.

Presenters at the event will include Casco Baykeeper Joseph Payne and University of Maine at Machias professor Brian Beal, a shellfish expert. Seagrass expert and research ecologist Hilary Neckles and Maine Clammers Association President Chad Coffin will also speak.
