ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police said they were searching for at least two men after another man was shot and killed on historic Auburn Avenue in downtown Atlanta.

Authorities say the shooting happened late Tuesday night outside a store.

Atlanta police Capt. Paul Guerrucci said detectives do not believe the shooting was a random crime.

Guerrucci tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (https://on-ajc.com/Y5CPra) that the victim, who appeared to be in his mid-20s, was taken to a hospital where he died.

Guerrucci says at least two suspects were seen running from the area, and police hope more witnesses come forward.

The shooting was the second killing in the downtown area since Sunday night, when 17-year-old Cody Phillips was stabbed to death during a fight in Woodruff Park. Police arrested a 26-year-old suspect in that case.
