NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A pregnant school bus driver and two students were taken to hospitals, but about 50 other children escaped serious injury in a sideswipe collision involving a bus and a tractor-trailer at a highway intersection in North Las Vegas.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Loy Hixson says some of the Legacy High School students complained minor injuries after the 6:45 a.m. Wednesday crash at Lamb Boulevard and the 215 Beltway.

Clark County schools spokesman David Roddy says two students were later taken by paramedics to a hospital.

Hixson says the bus driver felt pregnancy contractions but had no other visible injuries.

The driver of the truck hauling construction materials and a forklift wasn’t hurt.

Names weren’t immediately released.

Hixson says the crash happened as the bus and truck turned left side-by-side.
