NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - The Newport Harbor Corp. is selling a portion of its downtown waterfront property, including the Newport Yachting Center entertainment site that’s been the subject of noise complaints.

The Newport Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/IX5CGL ) that Paul O’Reilly, president of the Newport Harbor Corp., said Tuesday that restaurants and its banquet business will continue through leasing agreements with the new owners.

It also will continue to operate the Newport International Boat Show and Newport Charter Yacht Show at the yachting center site.

O’Reilly would not disclose the sale price, citing confidentiality agreements with the buyers. The sale is expected to be finalized in November.

Police cited the yachting center 11 times this summer for violating the city’s noise ordinance. The center has agreed to pay a still-to-be-determined fine for 10 violations.
