LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say a violent home invasion that left a 48-year-old resident dead over the weekend doesn’t appear to be a random act.

Authorities say they took one injured suspect into custody and are looking for a second suspect in the killing of Monty Gibson.

Police say two suspects kicked in the door of a home on the 1600 block of Broadmere Street at about 8 p.m. Sunday. The home is located near Hualapai Way and Charleston Boulevard.

Officers say the suspects started to fire at two roommates and one of the residents returned fire.

Gibson was killed, while one suspect was shot in the leg and taken to University Medical Center.

Police have not identified the suspects or disclosed a possible motive.
