WARE, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened during a motor vehicle stop in Ware.

They say a Ware police officer discharged his service weapon at about 8 p.m. Tuesday on Route 32 and that a vehicle fled the scene. No further details were released.

WGGB-TV reports that an officer’s foot was said to have been run over and that a chase took place. The station says police are searching for a small white car with New York plates.
