PRAGUE (AP) - Despte nine months out with a knee injury, former international striker Milan Baros has been signed by his former club Banik Ostrava in the Czech league.

Baros was hurt in December while playing for Antalyaspor in the Turkish league.

Banik, where Baros started his career, said on Wednesday he was signed till the season’s end.

Baros left Banik in 2001 to join Liverpool, with whom he won the Champions League in 2005. He also played for Aston Villa, Lyon and Portsmouth before signing in 2008 for Galatasaray, where he scored 48 goals in 93 appearances. He briefly returned to Ostrava in 2013 before joining Antalyaspor.

The 32-year-old retired from international football after the 2012 European Championship.
