OZARK, Mo. (AP) - A southwest Missouri man accused of beating and killing his wife has waived his preliminary hearing.

Aaron Clemons waived the preliminary hearing during a brief court appearance Thursday in Christian County.

He is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and other charges in the death of his 29-year-old wife, Bailey Clemons. She was found gagged and bound with packing tape to a pole in her home in Ozark on June 17. Investigators say she was strangled before her house was set on fire.

The couple’s two children were in the home but were not physically harmed.

KYTV reports (https://bit.ly/1wMAu0q ) the Christian County prosecuting attorney hasn’t said if she will seek the death penalty. Clemons is in the Christian County jail on $1 million bond.
