TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - The Pima County Sheriff’s Office says a woman who may have been a crime victim has died after being found critically burned in a canal.

The Sheriff’s Office on Thursday identified the woman as 45-year-old Valerie Sue Bellemare and said she died Wednesday night at Arizona Burn Center at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.

Deputies are investigating whether she was a victim of an assault or robbery.
