NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP) - Lincoln County officials say a Colorado man found dead along a Nebraska riverbank was killed by blunt force trauma.
The autopsy performed Tuesday and released Thursday indicates 43-year-old Lonnie Sanchez was intentionally killed on Sept. 16 near North Platte.
Deputy sheriff Roland Kramer tells The North Platte Telegraph further autopsy work will determine how the killing was performed. He declined to say if the trauma was caused by a weapon.
Two men have been charged with killing Sanchez and are each being held on $2 million bond. A woman is charged as an accessory to the murder and is being held on $1 million bond. All three are transients.
Their next court appearances are scheduled for Oct. 2.
