ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) - Police say a “homemade explosive device” was been found in a student’s locker at St. Helens High School, and the school was evacuated.
KGW-TV reported that students and staff members returned to the school once authorities checked out the building.
The youth was arrested. Police described the device as rudimentary and said it could have caused harm but not extensive damage.
The student was reported to have told others about the device, and the State Police bomb squad was called in.
