LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The murder trial of a man charged in a road rage shooting death in Little Rock has ended in mistrial after the jury was unable to reach a verdict.

A Pulaski County judge declared the mistrial Friday morning on the second day of deliberations in the case against 29-year-old Chris Schnarr.

Schnarr was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Arista Aldridge in May 2013 after the two men narrowly avoided a collision in Little Rock.

Schnarr testified that Aldridge then followed him and blocked him in before approaching his car. Schnarr said he was scared and opened fire after Aldridge ignored pleas to leave.

Prosecutors say Schnarr could have backed up and driven away or called police.

Prosecutors indicated they plan to retry the case.
