BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The University of Mary has suspended head volleyball coach Melissa Chaplin.

School spokesman Brian Larson says Chaplin is suspended indefinitely while the school “conducts a review of the program.” He declined to say whether Chaplin is accused of misconduct.

A telephone listing for Chaplin could not be found.

Chaplin was named head volleyball coach at the private Bismarck school in January. The previous four years she ran a volleyball club in Florida. She is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and played collegiately at Iowa, Iowa State and Florida Gulf Coast.

Mary assistant coach Thais Franca is overseeing the Marauders program in Chaplin’s absence.
