COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for the school of law at the University of South Carolina.

The school says USC President Harris Pastides, Republican U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, state Supreme Court Chief Justice Jean Toal and Law School Dean Rob Wilcox are speaking at Friday’s event. It begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Senate and Bull Streets.

Plans call for the 187,000 square foot building to open in 2017, on the 150th anniversary of the law school.
