DETROIT (AP) - Three people killed when the vehicle they were in caught fire after a crash on a Detroit freeway have been identified.

The Wayne County medical examiner’s office says Monday that dental records were needed for 33-year-old Jermere Howard, 31-year-old Kristen Johnson and 33-year-old Bryant Woods.

Officials have not yet positively identified another man who was in the vehicle.

Each of the bodies was badly burned.

Police have said excessive speed may have caused the single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night. The vehicle went off the roadway on Interstate 96 and slammed into the base of a bridge on the eastbound lanes.
