MONTICELLO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas-Monticello has unveiled a new bronze bust honoring the winningest football coach in the program’s history.

The school unveiled the bust of the late Tommy Barnes on Saturday. The artwork was paid for with a private donation and was completed by sculptor David Deming of Cleveland, Ohio.

Barnes was 69-53-1 in 12 seasons as head football coach for the Boll Weevils. He led the team to two appearances in the NAIA national playoffs and to the 1993 Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference championship.

The bust is located in the lobby of Arkansas-Monticello’s indoor practice facility.
