RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - Fremont County produced more hay last year than any other county in Wyoming.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture figures show Fremont County produced 254,000 tons of alfalfa hay in 2013.

The Riverton Ranger reports (https://bit.ly/1DRVpDP) Fremont County’s production far exceeded the next-largest producer. Goshen County produced 140,000 tons.

Fremont County had been in second place behind Goshen County in hay production in 2012. That drought year marked the first time since 1962 that Fremont County was not the state’s top alfalfa producer.
