GALISTEO, N.M. (AP) - Galisteo residents will be celebrating the fact that their Santa Fe County community has been around for 200 years.

The community began as a fortress to protect residents and then became a village, appearing on maps in the early 1800s.

The Santa Fe New Mexico (https://bit.ly/1u63GQs ) reports that the community’s 300 residents will hold their celebration Saturday and Sunday.

The celebration will include a parade, a classic car show, a dance, a potluck and a tribute to veterans.
