SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Officials say northern Utah’s Hill Air Force Base will start seeing its new fleet of fighter jets next September.

The Air Force says 72 of the new F-35s will be sent to the base.

The Salt Lake Tribune (https://bit.ly/1wQYGPh) the new jets are expected to create 475 jobs.

The base is working to transition its current squadrons flying F-16s to the new model.

Nathan Simmons, a spokesman for the 388th Fighter Wing stationed at the base, says officials have not determined where the F-16s will be sent.
