RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A high school football player in North Carolina has died after he collapsed before a game last weekend.

Wake County Schools announced Monday that Isaiah Langston of Rolesville High School died after collapsing on the field before Friday night’s game with Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School.

Football coach Jermaine Evans said the junior linebacker collapsed during pregame workouts and was taken to a hospital.

School officials said they would not talk about the death, at the request of the teen’s family.

Rolesville’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes planned a school-wide prayer Monday for Langston.
