PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities say an employee at the Philadelphia Zoo died after getting pinned under a heavy-duty golf cart.

Police say the 57-year-old man was working under the vehicle Monday morning when it fell off the jack. He died after being taken to a hospital.

Zoo spokeswoman Dana Lombardo couldn’t immediately provide further details. She says the victim was a longtime mechanic who maintained the zoo’s fleet of golf carts.

Lombardo says the accident took place in a garage that isn’t open to the public.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
