BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - University of Colorado police officers used a stun gun on a shoplifting suspect inside the campus book store.

Authorities say 25-year-old Jermaine Sillemon was trying to steal a Nike sweatshirt. While book store staff waited for a police officer to arrive, police say the man brandished an 8-inch silver pen as a “stabbing instrument.”

When the officer arrived, he asked Sillemon to remove a backpack he was wearing. Police say Sillemon then blew out his chest and began making punching motions with his fist. The officer warned Sillemon and then shot the Taser one time. Sillemon was transported on a stretcher to an ambulance outside. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has been charged with a crime.

The Daily Camera reports (https://bit.ly/1u6vX9s ) that Sillemon isn’t affiliated with the university.
