ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) - Sex assault charges have been filed against a northern New Jersey man accused of molesting a young female neighbor during the course of nearly two years.

Union County prosecutors say 44-year-old Moises Calle of Elizabeth is also charged with child endangerment and criminal sexual contact. Calle turned himself in on Friday, but the charges were not announced until Monday.

Prosecutors say Calle allegedly touched the 6-year-old girl inappropriately several times during a period starting in January 2013 and ending earlier this month. He faces more than 15 years in prison if convicted on all counts.

Bail for Calle was set at $150,000, and he was ordered to surrender his passport.

It was not known Monday if Calle had retained an attorney.
