BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - Rankin County Supervisor Wood Brown has resigned.

WLBT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1uXx4X3 ) the District 2 supervisor turned in his resignation Monday during a board meeting, effective immediately.

The Board of Supervisors is outside the time limit to hold a special election, but it can appoint someone to fill Brown’s unexpired term.
