PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol says it is targeting 17 counties with sobriety checkpoints in October.

The Patrol announced the checkpoints on Monday.

The counties scheduled for sobriety checkpoints in October are: Brookings, Brown, Clay, Codington, Davison, Hamlin, Hughes, Lawrence, Lincoln, Meade, Minnehaha, Moody, Roberts, Sanborn, Spink, Tripp and Walworth.
