COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado Springs police facility was temporarily closed after someone brought a military smoke bomb into the building.

Police spokeswoman Lt. Catherine Buckley tells the Gazette (https://bit.ly/1nBCd8Q ) the block outside the Police Operations Center was closed for about half an hour Monday as the bomb squad identified the device and determined it was not dangerous.

She says the person who brought the smoke bomb to the center will not be cited, but anyone who is not sure what a possibly dangerous item is should call police to come check it out.

The Police Operations Center houses administrative offices that include the communications center and the records section.
