COVINGTON, La. (AP) - St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister is proposing a $123.7 million operating and capital budget for 2015, an increase of about 4 percent from the current budget.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1pCA7zw ) the spending plan was recently received by the Parish Council, which will hold a series of hearings to examine the budgets of the individual parish government departments.
The budget is to be considered by the council for adoption on Nov. 6. The budget year runs Jan. 1 to Dec. 31.
The proposed operating budget is $109.9 million, of which $71 million is for day-to-day operations of government.
The capital budget is pegged at nearly $13.8 million
