ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The view from the top is no longer unfamiliar territory for the Detroit Lions.

Jim Caldwell’s team claimed sole possession of first place in the NFC North with a 24-17 win at the New York Jets on Sunday. Now 3-1, Detroit started with the same record last season and was alone in first place entering Week 10, ultimately squandering the division lead and missing the playoffs.

Caldwell said Monday the Lions have shown grit early this season, doing the little things necessary to win entering Sunday’s home game against Buffalo (2-2).
