BOTHELL, Wash. (AP) - The city of Bothell is breaking ground Wednesday on a new City Hall that will include a 250-car parking garage. The city hopes it will help spur development in the northeast Seattle suburb.

The City Hall will be near a new apartment building and an old school building that McMenamins is redeveloping as a hotel resort.

Bothell is financing the $46 million City Hall through a form of tax-exempt bonds under an agreement in which it will lease the building.

The city says it needs the new City Hall to replace the one built in 1938 when the population was about 800 people. The city says Bothell’s population is now more than 41,000.
