GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - The first phase of a $34 million renovation project at Georgetown Memorial Hospital is wrapping up this month.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports (https://bit.ly/1r0BOba ) the work on the renovations has been going on for several years. The project has included new patient rooms, a cardiac catheterization lab and the hospital exterior.

The newspaper reports the 64-year-old hospital now also has new windows, two expanded surgical units and a new roof.

There’s also a newly refurbished parking lot.

Hospital officials say the layout will change a bit as well, making both outpatient and inpatient services more accessible.
