EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - The New York Giants have placed starting guard Geoff Schwartz on recallable injured reserve and signed veteran lineman Adam Snyder.

The Giants’ decision on Wednesday to designate Schwartz to return from injured reserve means that he won’t be eligible to play until Nov. 3 against Indianapolis. The six-year veteran signed a $16.8 million free agent contract in the offseason and dislocated his right big toe on Aug. 22 against the Jets.

Snyder is a 10-year veteran, playing nine seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He has appeared in 137 regular-season games with 87 starts, including four at left guard last season. He was waived by the 49ers.

The Giants also signed tight end Jerome Cunningham and defensive tackle Dominique Hamilton to their practice squad.
