PORT GIBSON, Miss. (AP) - A 32-year-old Claiborne County man has been charged with two counts of murder in the deaths of two women in August.

Sheriff Marvin Lucas tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/1unbtrT ) that Dennis McCay of Pattison was being held in the county jail without bail.

Lucas says McCay was arrested Monday in a wooded area of Jefferson County and was returned to Claiborne County. An initial court appearance is scheduled for Friday,

McCay is charged in the deaths of Melvina Hedrick and Kawanna Williams. The women’s bodies were found Aug. 28 under different bridges in Claiborne County.

Lucas says the women were last seen with McCay was last seen with the women. Lucas says McCay has a child with one of the women, and the child is safe with a relative.
