PERU, Neb. (AP) - A rededication ceremony will be held Saturday at the Oak Bowl football field and stadium at Peru State College.

The historic Oak Bowl has undergone a $9 million renovation the past two years. The ceremony is at 6:40 p.m., just before kickoff of the Bobcats’ game against Midland University.

State funds and private donors paid for upgrades to the stadium, press box, concourse area, concession stand, restrooms and pedestrian access. New drainage, artificial turf and stadium lights have been installed and the field has been widened for soccer.

The facility also will be used for Peru State intramurals and events like band competitions, camps and high school football playoffs.

The Oak Bowl has been Peru State’s home football field since 1901.
