MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Police in New Hampshire and Massachusetts have accused a driver of leading them on a chase in a stolen vehicle before crashing into a utility pole.

Police said the driver led them on a chase that started in Manchester on Tuesday night and went along Interstate 93, Route 213 and into Methuen, Massachusetts.

The car then crashed into the pole and split in half. The male driver and a female passenger fled before being apprehended at a restaurant.

Police said the driver, 29-year-old Tommy Rogers of Manchester, was charged with being a fugitive from justice and receiving stolen property. The woman was not charged.
