WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) - A regional juvenile center in Wheeling has a new name honoring an advocate for youth.

Media outlets report that the Northern Regional Juvenile Center was renamed the Ronald C. Mulholland Juvenile Center on Tuesday.

The juvenile center is operated by a private nonprofit, Youth Services System. Mulholland was hired in 1974 as the nonprofit’s first staff person. He later became the organization’s executive director.

Mulholland died in 2009.
