EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A man who threatened to blow up a Department of Corrections office in Lynnwood was sentenced in Everett to nearly five years in prison.

The Daily Herald reports (https://is.gd/zuVZPV ) the Snohomish County Superior Court judge declined a defense request Monday to be lenient with 42-year-old David Moyer of Shoreline because of his history of mental illness.

Judge Bruce Weiss says Moyer knew what he was doing in February when he threw a bag through an office window and said there was a bomb inside. He surrendered after a five-hour standoff.
