DETROIT (AP) - Another fire has burned at a house near Detroit’s Heidelberg Project outdoor art installation.

The fire was reported early Tuesday at a house known as “Birthday Cake House” because of the many colorful painted cakes on its exterior.

Detroit Fire Department Lt. Dereck Tharp tells the Detroit Free Press the department was called to the scene on the city’s east side about 5:15 a.m. The house remains standing, but fire damage is evident - especially along the side and around the front door.

Senior chief Jack Wiley tells The Detroit News initial reports that something was tossed at the house to start the fire weren’t immediately confirmed.

Tyree Guyton founded the Heidelberg Project in 1986 in response to urban decay. It boosted security following several fires that started last year.
