PARIS, Ark. (AP) - A western Arkansas man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the May 2013 shooting death of another man.

The Times Record reports (https://bit.ly/1mMmq6e ) that a Logan County jury on Tuesday found 54-year-old Harry Bodine of Paris guilty in the shooting death of 33-year-old Joseph Allen Stapleton at Stapleton’s home near Paris.

The jury deliberated about 90 minutes before rejecting Bodine’s claim that he shot Stapleton in self-defense as Stapleton charged toward him with what appeared to be a brake drum in his hand.

Bodine faces up to life in prison.
