CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Emergency personnel in Charlotte say a worker at a recycling plant has died in an industrial accident.

Multiple media outlets report the unidentified worker died around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Source Recycling.

A spokeswoman for the N.C. Department of Labor said state officials were told by Charlotte firefighters that the employee was struck by a forklift. Emergency workers say the employee was pronounced dead at the scene.

The spokeswoman said the Occupational Safety Hazard Division will open an investigation.
