FAIR HAVEN, Vt. (AP) - A boil-water order continues in the Vermont town of Fair Haven after tests showed the drinking water was contaminated with bacteria.

Town officials said Tuesday they are awaiting the results of tests taken Sunday and Monday to see if the water is clean.

The town was ordered to boil its water on Sept. 25 after coliform bacteria was found in the water system.

Town officials say tests on Friday showed the water was clean but a subsequent test has come back positive for bacteria.

Officials say town employees are trying to consult with state officials to determine what steps must be taken for the boil water order to be lifted.
